The Lamborghini Estoque (Spanish pronunciation: es’toke) is a concept car built by Lamborghini. Unlike current production Lamborghini cars, which are mid-engine two-seat
sports cars, the Estoque is a four-door sedan. The Estoque was introduced at the 2008 Paris Motor show. The Estoque is the first front-engine vehicle by Lamborghini since the utility vehicle. Despite being classed as a concept car, the Estoque is being seriously considered for production. It is described as a "concept for a $230,000 four-door sedan". It currently houses a 5.2 litre V10 engine, although there has been speculation that this could be replaced by a V12, V8, or possibly even a hybrid or turbo-diesel engine (as suggested by Lamborghini's Brand Director, Manfred Fitzgerald). As with other Lamborghinis, the Estoque derives its name from Spanish style bullfighting. An estoque is a type of sword traditionally used by matardors. It was reported on 22 March 2009 that Lamborghini had cancelled its production plans for the Estoque, citing poor economic conditions and the competition posed by related vehicles. However, it was further reported on 23 March 2009 that the Estoque had not reached the production planning stage and that the decision whether to produce the Estoque or not has been delayed, but was still being considered. However, it should be noted that the Estoque has recently been spotted in a video concerning the Valentino Balboni Gallardo. it can been seen briefly in the background of two shots. Reasons why i like the Estoque, number 1, it is the first front engine vehicle.Second, it is a lamborghini with four doors.Lastly, the Estoque's name is derived from a sword which is a preety awesome yet interesting way to name a lamborghini such as this.

your right about the awesome and interesting ways to name the cars.
ReplyDeletei love the different names. and as i've previously harped on. diablo is my favorite. so "diabo"lical haha =)
Hi, I would be interested to find out more about the significance (if any) of naming the car after a sword used by a matador. Is there any symbolic meaning to it, or just a fanciful name applied to get the "aww-i-am-cool" factor?
ReplyDeleteYour blog is very informative! I particularly like the way you include your personal comments on why you like the car so much. Other than being informative, it gives a more personalized touch to the readers. It keeps me reading on.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up! =)
Lamborghini being an exotic car brand in Singapore, I'm sure readers like myself would like to know more about the Lambo club locally and their updates. Perhaps posting some event images held locally by the club. I'm sure readers will be interested to know about it. Really looking forward to the future posts of this blog.
ReplyDeletekelvin, your right.
ReplyDeletei know St James have some annual Ferrari gathering for all Ferrari owners.
Is there anything like that for Lamborghini?
Lambo club is more reserve and open to members and not to public for their events, unless they have special local mass events like car shows, etc. Google and you will find many in sg car forum.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information kelvin =)
